Dog Agility Training and Dog Training Info with Ron Pace

Welcome to our Dog Agility Training Website

Dog Agility Training is based in Plymouth, Devon. It is organised purely for fun and socialising of both dogs and handlers. Ron Paice is a retired Police Dog Sergeant and a qualified Police Dog Instructor. Since his retirement from the Police Force in 1997 he has been a professional dog trainer and set up his agility dog training in 1999.

It has become very popular with people who wish to take part in this activity but do not wish to compete. Nearly all the equipment used in dog agility is available, including hurdles, long jump, 5 metre tunnel, collapsable tunnel, seesaw, dog walk, ‘A’ frame, tyre jump and weaving poles.

Dog agility is a sport in which a dog moves through an obstacle course with the guidance of his or her handler. After initial training dogs usually run off the lead with the only guidance coming from its handler using voice and body language.

Courses are complicated enough that a dog could not complete them correctly without human direction. In its simplest form, an agility course consists of a set of standard obstacles, laid out by an agility judge in a design of his own choosing. Dog Training Tips

Always end a training session with something fun and positive that will build confidence in your dog. If your dog has failed to understand
a new command, end the training session with some familiar commands that you know that it already understands.
